General information
All the rooms face out towards Derwentwater and the fells beyond that Catbells and Maiden Moor and behind them Causey Pike and Grisedale Pike. All rooms have large windows to the front of the house except Armboth which only has a Mullion (thin long glazed window) to the front and a large window at the back looking up the Armboth range of fells which rise up behind the farm house (this was because of planning issues). From the front and to the North you can see Bassenthwaite Lake and the Skiddaw fells sitting above the market town of Keswick.
All the rooms have central heating, are fully carpeted, divan beds, wardrobes and chest of drawers, bedside tables, bedside lamps, tea and coffee facilities, towels, hairdryers and complimentary basket of toiletries. The bedding is Egyptian cotton with duvets & bedspreads.
The whole property is fitted with a full fire alarm and aqua mist sprinkler system.
The lounge which faces NW is fitted with a wood burner, which we put in the old fireplace after opening it up in the spring of 2005 and lit during the cooler months, the room is full of character and charm with original oak beams forming the open ceiling, comfy seating. Information on what's on and places to visit locally during your stay is available.
Since increasing the guest rooms in 2005 we made a separate dining room which has been very popular it has individual tables for guests and we can join tables to accommodate larger groups.
Pricing information
Prices are based on two adults sharing a room and are the price per person per night. We allow Grisedale Pike and Maiden Moor only for single occupancy at £25 extra per night. We allow children under 13yrs to stay in Causey Pike, Maiden Moor and Grisedale Pike at £25.00 per person per night. We have two cots available for infants under 2yrs at £5 per night. We also have two 3ft folding beds, which fit one each in Causey Pike and Armboth, we charge £25.00pn for children aged 12yrs and under and £30.00pn for 13yrs + and adults using these. There is no reduction for children in Catbells and Armboth. If you are booking either Causey Pike or Armboth please state on your booking how you would like the beds configured eg super king or twin. We have a minimum booking of two nights and three nights on bank holiday weekends. All bookings are now done securely online, if you require assistance or further information please telephone or use the contact form and we will be happy to assist you. At the time of booking a one night stay, non-returnable deposit will be taken by card the balance is due later. If you book within 30 days of your stay the full balance will be taken at the time of booking. We accept all major credit and debit cards. All prices include a full English breakfast. Each room has tea and coffee facilities. Packed lunches are available at £7.00 each, please order before your arrival. In a serious effort to reduce plastic waste and my recycling I no longer provide bottles of water with a packed lunch and encourage all our guests to bring their own reusable water bottles with them so they can take advantage of our beautiful spring water.
